Centralized Voting System
Centralized Voting System (CVS)
is a web-based application that ensures a faster, more convenient and more
secure method of voting and the final vote calculation. The voting system
currently being used is electronic ballot system, which is fast and convenient
to vote, but provide less security and cannot be integrated easily to provide
the final result quickly. It takes time to bring the results from the
constituencies together to obtain the final result. CVS solves this problem by
introducing a centralized system in which the vote calculated in each polling
booth is automatically updated in a central database which can only be accessed
by the administrator and helps the user view the final result in the site or as
an SMS in his mobile phone which could be send by the administrator. The main
attraction of this application is the method by which the voter logs into his
account. Other than the traditional user ID and password, an image of his face
is taken and checked with the data stored in the system. This increases the
security and eliminates any means of forgery of votes. CVS does not consider
any case of illegal or invalid vote, because there simply isn’t any way that
such conditions could arise. As long as the login is performed correctly, there
isn’t any way that each vote casted doesn’t count. To eliminate any threats
from anybody accessing the database, CVS also uses an encryption algorithm
which encrypts the password before it is stored in the database. The voter
cannot vote more than once.
A voting system
doesn’t get any more secure and faster than CVS with all these functionalities
incorporated into it. It can be used for any type of election process- from a
community polling to a nationwide election such as the Assembly elections. This
system is having high level of portability, reliability and robustness. The
final result can be easily obtained because of the centralized nature of the
system.
